The Remote Lake In Missouri Is Also The Most Peaceful

Pinewoods Lake in Missouri offers a peaceful retreat with fishing, hiking, and scenic views in a secluded setting.

Finding solitude really isn't that hard to do, no matter where we live in the state. We can set off on a secluded hiking trail, drive on a lonely road, or head to this remote lake in Missouri. It's a picture-perfect destination, especially if you're craving some quiet time outdoors at remote places in Missouri. Welcome to Pinewoods Lake, one of the best Missouri lakes.

Pinewoods Lake isn't exceptionally big. However, at just 31 cozy acres, it promises a whole lot of peace and quiet.

Tucked in the Pinewoods Lake Recreation Area in Mark Twain National Forest, the manmade lake offers a quiet spot to go fishing. The fishing pier is handicap accessible.

Or, explore the shimmering water on a boat.

You don't have to spend time on the water to enjoy it. Relax and admire the breathtaking views on the floating fishing pier.

It's also the perfect spot for drinking in a spectacular sunset. Pinewoods Lake Recreation is a day use area and welcomes visitors from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m daily.

Keep an eye out for ducks and beavers in the water, too.

Wear or bring comfy walking shoes to explore the 1.3-mile Pinewoods Lake Loop Trail, an easy trek that's predominately flat.

The trail wanders around the lake. However, you'll likely want to avoid it if you're visiting after heavy rain. It can get really muddy, and you'll likely get wet.

Chances are you won't run into many others on the path. Hikers say the trail is incredibly quiet.
