The hidden gem in Missouri is the realization of a dream of the Horners, Pat and John, who purchased their Springfield home several years ago. It came with a second lot that they decided to turn into a neighborhood garden and arboretum.

A stroll along Walnut Street will inevitably lead you to Dominion Gardens and Arboretum, which you'll enter through an iron gate.

You won't need a ton of time to see all that this Missouri arboretum has to offer along its winding path, but you'll likely be in no hurry to leave, especially if you're craving peace and quiet.

As you explore, keep an eye out for more than 80 trees, dozens of shrubs, and countless perennials.

The highlight of this neighborhood arboretum, however, is undoubtedly the fountain. Several benches are strategically placed near the fountain, so you can relax and soak up the ambiance.
