The Festival Of Lights In Missouri Is A Magical Wintertime Fairyland Experience

Bundle up for an enchanting winter's eve at Powell Gardens in Missouri. The botanical gardens promise breathtaking beauty all year around. When winter rolls around, however, the gardens transform into a spectacular wonderland, drenched in colorful Christmas lights. Bring the whole family for a one-mile winter stroll during the third annual Festival of Lights, which boasts the theme "Luminosity" for 2019.

Explore the garden of lights. Snap photos of caterpillars, butterflies, and other animated light displays. You might even pass Santa and Christmas carolers along the way.

The festival also features several other activities, too. Warm up with a hot chocolate and a sugar cookie, for example, at the Holly Jolly Rest Stop, also along the one-mile path.

Stop by Santa's Workshop, too, after you've finished your stroll. There, you can make an ornament for your Christmas tree, and play a board game that's life size.

Cafe Thyme will also be open, so you can grab a bite to eat before or after your holiday adventure. The cafe serves soups, nachos, hot dogs, and other goodies. You'll even find gluten-free and vegan options.

The Festival of Lights will run from Friday from November 29, 2019 to Sunday, January 5, 2020. Admission is free for garden members.

If you're not a member of Powell Gardens, adult admission costs $12 and children between five and 12 cost $5. Parking is $5.
