Elephant Rocks State Park, in Belleview, boasts an abundance of natural beauty, but one natural feature stands out: Elephant Rocks.
Undoubtedly the main attraction of the popular state park, Elephant Rocks earned its moniker from its similarities to circus elephants lined up like a train.
However, these are no ordinary circus elephants. The massive granite boulders date back more than 1.5 billion years, attracting visitors from all over Missouri and the United States.
Climbing the boulders, a favorite pastime for kids and adults, is permitted. Whether you're a casual or a seasoned climber, you'll find climbing the rocks is an ideal way to spend time.
Getting to Elephant Rocks is easy, too. Just follow the one-mile Braille Trail, which is tailored to visually and physically impaired visitors.

While Elephant Rocks State Park is temporarily closed due to the current environment, regular winter hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from November through March. Spring hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. from April through October.
