Take a look around Mississippi, and it’s quite clear that spring is in full bloom. Colorful flowers are popping up all over the state. One of the best places to see the vibrant flowers of the season is Wister Gardens. Dubbed "the fairyland of gardens," a visit is sure to enchant you. Check it out:
Located in Belzoni, Wister Gardens includes 14 beautifully landscaped acres full of flowers, trees, and shrubs.
The gorgeous gardens can be toured daily, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Featuring pathways, covered wooded areas, and drives, it’s the perfect place for a peaceful stroll.
Absolutely exceptional, the garden is a recipient of the Johnny Appleseed statue — the highest award given to gardeners.
Though it’s a great visit year-round, the garden is especially stunning in the spring when around 8,000 azaleas are in full bloom.
As the temperatures rise in June and July, daylilies and crape myrtles fill the garden.
In addition to a colorful array of flora, you’ll find more than 100 varieties of trees and shrubs.
A charming gazebo provides a great place to rest and enjoy the unbelievable grounds.
Don't forget your camera; the serene surroundings also include a fountain that's been imported from Italy and a small lake, which is home to black swans, African geese, and flamingos.
Visit Wister Gardens at 1440 Highway 7 in Belzoni. It's open every day and is free to tour. For more information, call (662) 247-3025 or click here. Have you ever visited Wister Gardens? Did you know about it? Have another favorite garden? Tell us in the comments section.
