Splash pads have become extremely popular in recent years. Nowadays, you can find them just about anywhere. However, of all the splash pads in the state there’s one that stands out above the rest – and it’s hiding in Paul B. Johnson State Park. Take a look:
Located in Hattiesburg, Paul B. Johnson State Park boasts a ton of great amenities...
...including a 5,000-square-foot splash pad.
Sure to entertain kids, it’s outfitted with 37 "fanciful water sprays and jets," including a mushroom water umbrella and frog-shaped water slide.
The opportunities to get splashed don’t end there, though. Additional features include overhead buckets, which, once full, tip over and soak anyone below.
Standing spray loops offer another fun way to cool off.
There are also plenty of hands-on features, like water cannons, varying water jets, sprays, and bubblers.
Covered picnic tables surround the splash pad and provide the perfect spot for a lunch break.
The splash pad isn't the only way to stay cool at the park, though. There's also a lakeside beach.
Big in size and on fun, a visit to this splash pad won't disappoint!
The splash pad is open (weather permitting) from 10:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday throughout Labor Day. It can also be rented for private parties. For more information, call (601) 582-7721. You can also visit the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks website.
