It’s that special time of year again! Even though it may not feel like fall, I assure you cooler temperatures are on the way. In the meantime, it’s time to start planning your fall weekends in Mississippi and enjoying some good old-fashioned farm fun. Here are some of the best pumpkin patches in Mississippi that offer loads of activities, corn mazes, and pumpkin patches to keep you entertained all day long.
1. Williams Family Farms, Wiggins
The annual pumpkin patch and maze at Williams Family Farms typically opens in late September and will run until the end of October. Admission is $10 per person (kids 2 and under are free) and it includes access to the maze, animal barnyard, farm playground, jumping pillow, unlimited rides on the cow train, and a hayride over to the U-Pick pumpkin patch.
2. Wise Family Farm, Pontotoc
Wise Family Farm is one of the best pumpkin patches near Oxford. Actually, it’s equidistant to both Oxford and Tupelo, making it convenient for folks in either city to visit. They haven’t announced with the pumpkin patch will open up for the season yet, but we know it’s soon! All your favorite farm activities are waiting for you and your crew, including haw rides, playgrounds, jumping pillows, and the whole nine yards!
3. Cedar Hill Farm, Hernando
Up in the northwest corner of the state, Cedar Hill Farm is an award-winning farm that’s got one of the best pumpkin patches in Mississippi. The 120-acre farm is always hosting seasonal events, and this fall they've got a few things to look forward to! The flower festival usually takes place in September and gives you the chance to check out an endless array of sunflower and zinnia fields. From Sept. 24 until Nov. 8, the pumpkin patch and corn maze will take center stage and include hayrides, a petting zoo, an education station, giant slides, zip lines, and so much more. You can even do a little catch-and-release fishing in the pond!
4. Southern Promiseland Farm, Kiln
As one of the best pumpkin patches near Bay St. Louis and Pass Christian, you can’t go wrong with a fall day spent at this family-friendly farm in Hancock County. Southern Promiseland Farm also offers a wide range of activities in addition to picking the perfect pumpkin, and the 10-acre corn maze is always a crowd-pleaser. Dates have not been announced yet, but they open at the beginning of October, so mark your calendar because it’s coming up!
5. Mitchell Farms, Collins
Mitchell Farms has a reputation for growing some of the best peanuts for over 30 years, but you’d be surprised to learn that they’re also one of the best pumpkin patches near Hattiesburg! The 2024 pumpkin patch runs from Sept. 28 - Nov. 10 and is the perfect spot to start making new family traditions. 6. Seward Farms, Lucedale
Right on the Mississippi/Alabama line, Seward Farms has over 20 years under its belt, and the pumpkin patch is perfect. From Sept. 28 - Nov. 2, there will be plenty of pumpkins and farm-friendly fun for the entire family. Hayrides, jumping pillows, pony rides, and farm animals are just a few of the activities that you’ll find here!
