There’s nothing like taking a relaxing stroll while breathing in the intoxicating scent of fresh flowers. Getting some exercise while fully taking in all the gorgeous nature around you is always a wonderful experience, but is especially lovely in the spring. 1. The Crosby Arboretum - Picayune
The 104-acre Crosby Arboretum contains several exhibits that display plants native to the Pearl River Drainage Basin ecosystem.
2. Wister Gardens - Belzoni
Described as the "fairyland of gardens," Wister Gardens is made up of 14 acres filled with colorful flowers, trees, and shrubbery.
3. Rosalie Mansion and Gardens - Natchez
The Rosalie Mansion in Natchez is a historical landmark that has several gardens on the grounds, including the Patricia Walton Shelby Bicentennial Garden, the Walter Reed Page Smith Garden, and the Janet Terreson Sims Memorial Rose Garden.
4. Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum - Jackson
Along with numerous exhibits and rides, The Mississippi Agricultural And Forestry Museum also features an accredited rose garden that is listed on the National Rose Register.
5. Mynelle Gardens - Jackson
The once private Mynelle Gardens, which is now a city park, includes azaleas, camellias, flowering trees, exotic plants, and perennials. The gorgeous property also includes fish ponds, bridges, an island, and gazebos. It's one of the best gardens in MS.
6. The University of Southern Mississippi All-American Rose Garden - Hattiesburg
Attracting visitors from all over the country, the University of Southern Mississippi’s rose garden is made up of 800 bushes containing the vibrantly-colored flower.
7. The Walter Place Estate and Garden - Holly Springs
Once the home of General Ulysses S. Grant and his family, the historical property features a pond, a small waterfall, and, of course, scenic gardens.
8. McCarty Pottery Studio and Gardens - Merigold
The family-owned pottery studio and gardens have become a favorite among locals and visitors alike. The breathtaking garden is filled with beautiful plants, trees, and flowers as well as several terraces, cypress fences, and fountains. It makes a great day trip in Mississippi.
