The Incredible Spring-Fed Pool In Minnesota You Absolutely Need To Visit

Hokah, Minnesota, offers a unique spring-fed pool that provides a chemical-free swimming experience with a sandy beach.

If you've never been to Hokah, Minnesota, it may be time for a visit. This little town has fewer than 1,000 residents, but there is still a lot to do there despite the small size. For one thing, it is located in the Bluff Country of southeastern Minnesota, right along the banks of the Root River. And if you're ever in the area on a hot day, you may also be interested in one of the town's other unique features: its spring-fed pool.

The Hokah Pool was built in 1968, and it still stands as a popular spot in Hokah today.

Surrounded by hills and trees, it makes for a great place for a day in the sun - with far less hassle than taking the boat out to the lake.

In a way, the Hokah Pool is pretty similar to a lake. It has three walls, just like your average swimming pool. But the fourth wall is actually a sandy beach.

Also like a lake, the water is chemical free. The water in this spring-fed pool comes from Old Badger Spring.

From the beach, visitors can wade into the sand-bottomed pool for summertime fun. Or, they can stay on shore for sand castles and sunbathing.

Visitors are free to bring their own pool floats and toys. Recreation is available on-site, too.

The Hokah Pool even has two diving boards.

This spring-fed pool is located at 20 Como Street in Hokah, Minnesota. It is open every day during the summer months, and the cost of admission is $3.
