Lace up your boots, pack everything you'll need for a short hike, and head to Tettegouche State Park to find this charming little waterfall trail in Minnesota.

Illgen Falls and Devils Rock Trail is a .8-mile, out-and-back trail at Tettegouche State Park in northern Minnesota.

Although Illgen Falls is located within Tettegouche, the trail head is located away from the main part of the park.

You'll find the trail head at a parking area along Minnesota Hwy. 1 between Hwy. 61 on the North Shore and the small community of Finland.

The trail is short, and you'll encounter a few ups and downs, but the elevation changes are pretty minimal along its half-mile length.

You'll reach the Baptism River and the top of Illgen Falls after hiking just a few hundred feet.

Take some time to enjoy this beautiful little waterfall before continuing on the rest of your hike.

Stroll up the Baptism River to a pool at Devil's Rock to finish up the .4-mile one-way trail.

You probably won't meet another hiker while you're here, so take some time to relish the solitude, listen to the water, and enjoy the fragrance of the trees before you head back to the trail head.
