Everyone Must Visit This Unforgettable Place In Michigan This Winter
Michigan's Great Lakes showcase stunning ice formations during winter, captured beautifully by a local couple.
Sure, Michigan winters can be rough, we all know it. But we like to look at it in a positive light and appreciate the natural beauty that can be found only during the colder months.
Take the ice that builds up on our Great Lakes. Every year, it's quite the sight to behold, whether from Lake Michigan, Lake Superior, Lake Erie, or Lake Huron. This year, the spectacular show comes to us next to the Mackinac Bridge in Mackinaw City.
According to MLive, engaged couple Kelly Alvesteffer and Rob LaLone came across blue ice build up stacking up along the shore. So they did what any good shutterbug would do: they grabbed their camera and started shooting the wondrous images and posted them to their photography Facebook page.
Take a look:
1. OK, not so bad.
2. Seems like the typical freeze over.
3. Quite solid formation though, we have to admit.
4. Wonder how far that ice stretches?
5. OK, it's starting to look pretty significant.
6. Wait... Is that a small ice hill forming?
7. That's... Um, pretty tall.
8. It's actually kinda like a mountain.
9. Wonder if you could ski down that.
10. What glorious ice crystals!
Quite the spectacle, huh? We have to admit, we were pretty impressed by how this couple captured this ice show. Tell us though, have you seen better? Please, share with us some of your favorite ice images from winters past and present.
