A Peaceful Escape Can Be Found Along The MA NET: Section 9 Trail In Massachusetts
If you are an avid hiker, you are probably familiar with the New England Scenic Trail, which runs 235 miles through both Massachusetts and Connecticut. Popular hikes along this trail include Mount Norwottuck and Royalston Falls. If you enjoyed these trails, you should definitely check out MA NET: Section 9. This year-round hike has been ranked as one of the state's top-rated trails.
Section 9 is located in the town of Amherst, Massachusetts.
This point-to-point trail runs for 2.6 miles from Federal Street to Harris Mountain Road and reaches an elevation of 518 feet. The popular hike can be walked in approximately 1 hour and 19 minutes.
The Section 9 portion of the New England Scenic Trail is a difficult one that is suited for experienced hikers. It can get very steep in parts and may require some rope assistance.
