The trail is located in Mount Holyoke Range State Park near South Hadley. It’s about two miles long, which makes it a quick and easy adventure.
The trail itself is very flat and easy enough for families and beginners. Keep your eyes peeled for interesting wildlife and flora.
When you reach the pond, you’ll want to plop down and linger for a while. The waters are clear, cool, and perfect for cloud-watching.
The pond is actually a reservoir, so swimming isn’t allowed. But you’re welcome to take as many photos as you like and lounge by the shore.
Keep in mind that this is bear territory, so you may want to bring a bear bell and stay on the path. There isn’t parking at the trailhead, but you can find a parking lot about two streets over from the path.
