If it's overlook views you seek, you'll definitely want to head to the following trail in Maryland. The woodland path takes you to not one, but TWO scenic vistas. There's a whole lot of natural beauty packed into these 3.4 miles and you'll want to see it all in person. Read on for the stunning details!
Catoctin Mountain Park is an underrated gem located in the Thurmont area.
There are several trails that you can explore at this local park. The Wolf Rock and Chimney Rock trail is a 3.4-mile loop that leads to two scenic overlooks.
Be aware that while some of the trail areas are easily laid-out...
...other parts are very bumpy and rocky, featuring deep, hidden crevices. You'll definitely want to wear shoes with good tread.
And because there are so many rocky areas, that also means hidden wildlife as well. Keep your eyes peeled for lizards, snakes, and more.
The bumpy trek is worth it though because both Wolf Rock and Chimney Rock are breathtaking sights, indeed. Marvel at the sprawling mountain views any time of year...
...which are especially serene during autumn...
...and winter.
Plan to sit and stay a while while you soak in the surrounding beauty.
