Love a good scenic overlook? So do we, which is why we've featured a few in the past, including the King and Queen Seat and the view from Washington Monument State Park. Today, we're highlighting a Maryland gem that's mostly known to those in western portion of the state. We recommend everyone see it however, because the mountainous sights really are spectacular.
Dan's Rock Overlook is nestled atop of Dan's Mountain in Allegany County.

This is the view from the parking lot.
Simply climb along the stone stairs, with the railing to guide your way...
...and soon you'll begin to see the view!
The sights from this rocky spot can be enjoyed year-round...
...but autumn is a favorite for obvious reasons.
This is a great place for photos ops as long as you use caution.
NOTE: Don't get too close to the edge and avoid climbing on rocks especially when wet or icy.
When it comes to mountain views in Maryland, this place just may have the best.
