Farmers' markets are about as Maine as whoopie pies and the smell of low tide. And that's why we love visiting them all over the state. Even if we're so far from home that buying fresh lettuce makes no sense, we're happy to peruse what other people are selling. From soaps to honey to fresh fish, a Maine farmers' market has everything we need. And if you head to this one, they've got even more!
Welcome to the Yarmouth Farmers' Market in (you guessed it!) Yarmouth! It takes place every Thursday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. from June 4th to October 15th.
If you love a good, quaint Maine farmers' market this weekly event is a must-visit.
Nearly 20 different vendors make this a market that has everything you need.
From locally grown produce and flowers, to meats and cheeses, eggs, pasta and breads, prepared foods and desserts, you'll be leaving with your hands full and your bags weighed to the ground.
And while we love the vendors, it's the little extras that make this market so special.
You'll almost always find live music, from visiting musicians to those from just around the corner.
There are even interactive music events aimed at families. We especially love the weekly drum circle that's perfect for kids! Just bring a beat and they'll provide the drums.
Thirsty? Get refreshed with some lemonade.
And when browsing has made your stomach rumble, enjoy the food trucks or vendors that visit each week. Last year's visitors were treated to Aklilu Tsaedu of Niyat Catering serving Ethiopian dishes!
While the Yarmouth Farmers' Market is a great place to load up on things you'll need for the week, we also love that this is an event to look forward to each week.
The Yarmouth Farmers' Market takes place every Thursday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., which makes it convenient for folks who work most of the daytime. You can learn more about it on their website. Or visit them on Facebook.
There are a lot of reasons to be thankful for Maine beyond the access we have to so many great markets. Let's not forget the restaurants. Located at the end of the world in Maine, the Lobster Shack at Two Lights is a must-visit!
