Sitting by the shores of Jordan Pond in Acadia National Park since 1893, Jordan Pond House Restaurant is one of the most visited places in the park.
There might not be a more scenic spot that doesn't require a hike.
The only physical exertion you'll have here is eating some of the best food in the region or taking the path along the property for a better view of the Bubbles and the water.
The setting here is grand and the restaurant itself is large and airy. But it wasn't always like this.
The restaurant got its start when the first owner, Nellie McIntire, baked and served her perfect popovers for those who needed a snack.
Today, the tradition of popovers and tea hold strong!
Luckily for those with bigger appetites, the menu has expanded to include hearty sandwiches and salads.
Of course, you can't miss the lobster rolls either.
Spending time outside on the lawn on a sunny Maine day is what a visit to Acadia National Park is all about.
