Some winters have been one for the record books in Maine, I'm looking at you Ice Storm of 98. We should be no stranger to the cold here in New England and of course the record-breaking winters. Some years feel like blizzard after snowstorm after blizzard after snowstorm. Then again other years we've had some respite from the constant cold and chill that we've come to love. We all know the old Maine saying "If you don't like the weather just wait a minute". Still yet during some winters, the snow comes, but warmer temps have kept the outdoors relatively pleasant. To celebrate all things frozen, snow, and ice, here are 17 incredible Maine in the winter photos!
1. Vaughan Woods Frozen Dam
A pleasant hike in Vaughan Woods
in Hallowell, Maine, is always a great way to get outside. In the winter the whole forest turns magical especially when the dam freezes over. Check out this Adventuring in the Moment video when we went out to explore this winter phenomenon.
