The Longleaf Vista Interpretive Trail might just be one of the most underrated hiking trails in Louisiana.

You can park at the Longleaf Vista Recreation Area.

They also have restrooms and several benches peppered around the area, a perfect spot for a picnic!

Right when you pull up, you’ll be met with some stunning views.

The 1.5-mile loop trail is rated as moderate, but this is Louisiana after all…

…that being said, you will encounter a bit of elevation as you make your way through the piney forest.

The streams add a wonderful soundtrack as you wander along the trail.

The landscape is certainly a change from the bayous and swamps.

You certainly don't encounter terrain like this every day!
