In need of a little nature time? Well, we've got just the spot. Located in Bastrop, Chemin-A-Haut State Park is a beautiful state park in Northern Louisiana that’s ideal for a quick getaway. With over 500 acres to explore, you can bet you’ll have your day packed with adventure. Let's check it out.
For nature lovers, few scenes can compare to the beautiful Chemin-A-Haut State Park.
Nestled on a high bluff above Bayou Bartholomew, the park has been a favorite for Northern Louisianians since it opened in 1935.
The 503-acre park features several attractions the whole family can enjoy.
There are two playgrounds the younger ones will love, as well as a swimming pool that’s great during the summer months.
But Bayou Bartholomew is really the crown jewel of this scenic oasis. For $7 per hour, you can rent a kayak and paddle around the bayou, which will give you an entirely new perspective of the park.
The bayou is home to over 100 different species of fish, so it’s a great spot to bring your rod and reel and see if you can catch yourself some dinner.
There are several campsites available to rent…
…as well as completely furnished cabins.
And for even more adventure, take a stroll down one of their hiking trails.
The park even has an 8-mile equestrian trail, so you can bring your gentle giant out for a day of fun.
Chemin-A-Haut State Park is open daily from 6 a.m. till 9 p.m.
Admission is $3 per person.
For more information, be sure to check out their website and give them a follow on Facebook.
