1. Cave Run Lake
If you're looking for both mountain and lake views, visit beautiful Cave Run Lake. Located near Morehead, this picturesque lake is perfect for sunset views over the rolling mountains and sparkling lake.
2. Jenny Wiley State Resort Park
You'll find the perfect mountain getaway at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park in Prestonsburg. Stay at the lodge, enjoy a meal at the restaurant and take in the peaceful mountain views.
3. Take a hike at Pine Mountain.
Hiking in Pine Mountain State Resort Park is really unrivaled throughout Kentucky. The Hemlock Garden Trail, pictured above, is particularly unique and magical.
4. Seek out one of many scenic overlooks.

Breaks Interstate Park is aptly named because it stretches throughout Kentucky and Virginia. As you explore the area, you'll likely forget which state you are actually in. But it doesn't really matter with views like this.
7. The top of the Natural Bridge
Kentucky's famed Natural Bridge is one of the best hikes in the state. From the top of the bridge, the views are spectacular and will definitely satisfy your need for a mountain experience.
