I Live In Kentucky and This Is the Most Vibrant U-Pick Tulip Experience To Celebrate Spring
Ruby Branch Farms in Franklin, Kentucky grows gorgeous tulips each spring. Visitors can walk through the colorful fields and pick stems to take home.
Spring is one of the best times of year in Kentucky. The whole state comes alive with sunny skies, flowering trees, singing birds, and vibrant flowers. I can't resist the beautiful flowers of spring. After months of chilly temperatures and bare trees, their colorful petals bring me joy. At Ruby Branch Farms in Franklin, Kentucky, guests can embrace the feeling of spring with rows upon rows of U-pick tulips.
Ruby Branch Farms is a family-owned farm that grows several high-quality products. Owners and couple Drew and Laney Snider met as agriculture students at Murray State University and started the farm in 2015. Drew is a ninth-generation farmer, and the couple is dedicated to improving their operation every year.
Recently, the farm began growing stunning tulips. This season, the farm planted about 33,000 bulbs, which will emerge from the ground in a riot of color this spring. Tulip season is short and only lasts about four weeks, but there are several ways to enjoy it. The farm offers a tulip bouquet subscription, and subscribers can pick up a beautiful bouquet each week for four weeks.
Visitors can also walk through the tulip fields and pick gorgeous stems to take home. The farm boasts rows of colorful tulips in vibrant shades of reds, pinks, yellows, oranges, and purples. There is a per-person admission fee to enter the tulip field, and each stem costs $1.50. I can't think of a better way to embrace the spring season than by wandering through these colorful fields and picking a few to take home.
As beautiful as they are, Ruby Branch Farms grows way more than tulips. In the fall, the farm cultivates more than 12 acres of sunflowers and also sells mums and pumpkins. The farm has hosted a Tulip Bulb Bar in the late fall, where visitors could purchase tulip bulbs of several fantastic varieties. For Christmas, it sells fresh wreaths and Christmas trees. As if that weren't enough, it also raises and sells high-quality Angus beef. It's safe to say that the Sniders and their team are busy throughout the year, bringing all of these first-rate products to customers.

Franklin is a charming Kentucky town with tons of history. The Octagon Hall Museum was built in 1847 as Andrew Jackson Caldwell's home, but it was later used as a Civil War field hospital and a Masonic meeting house; it's considered one of the most haunted places in the South! Franklin also has a Spray Paint Road, a colorful road covered in layers of graffiti that has been a place of artistic expression since at least the 1980s.
Consider planning a weekend trip to Franklin. This beautiful two-story treehouse accommodates two guests and sits on 30 acres of peaceful land. There are hiking trails and a stocked fishing pond for guests to enjoy.
