Broke Leg Falls is a naturally beautiful area located in Menifee County, a region in Eastern Kentucky that's been through quite a bit over the years.

In 2012, a devastating tornado ripped through the area, destroying pretty much everything in its path, including the area surrounding Broke Leg Falls.

In its aftermath, Kentuckians did what they do best, banding together and rebuilding something even better and more beautiful. Today, the only sign of the former destruction is quite literally a sign at the parking lot.

And from here? Well, it's a short-and-sweet jaunt to the falls.

The walk to the falls is just a few steps -- but it's literally stairsteps, so you'll want to take your time and definitely use the handrail. Keep in mind, you'll need to come back up to get out.
