A Rare Halloween Blue Moon Will Appear In Kentucky In 2020 So Be Prepared

Halloween 2020 will feature a rare Blue Moon on a Saturday, making it a unique and exciting event.

It finally happened! Halloween will be on a Saturday this year and every single parent and teacher is thrilled. Of course it has to happen in the crazy year that is 2020, but it just so happens that Halloween on a Saturday isn't the only unique thing about this fun-filled tradition. Our country, Kentucky included, will witness a rare Halloween Blue Moon this year. The phrase "Once in a blue moon" seems to apply to a lot of things this year, and ironically we've all heard the connection of this year to another popular phrase, "Hindsight is 2020." I guess we'll just add a Halloween Blue Moon to the (long) list of the craziness of 2020.

Oftentimes a moon rising into the Kentucky sky is a beautiful sight, as proven in this photo from the Bluegrass Region.

And this year, on Halloween of all nights, we will see a rare Blue Moon, which means it will be the second full moon of the month.

You've heard the phrase, "Once in a blue moon," which refers to something that doesn't happen very often. It's true that a blue moon is something that we don't see every month.

Not only will October see two full moons, but we will also see both the Harvest Moon and the Hunter's Moon in the same month - another rare occurrence!

The Harvest Moon typically happens in September, but this year it will occur on October 1st, and then we will see the Hunter's Blue Moon on Halloween night.

Does this mean werewolves will lurk and witches will fly across the moon? It's 2020, so we wouldn't be surprised.

Many believe that a full moon has an interesting impact on people, so what will that mean when we see a rare Halloween Blue Moon? Knowing 2020, we better be prepared for just about anything. What do you think about a full moon and its impact on behavior? Are you excited for a spooky Halloween? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!
