The Hidden Nature Park In Kansas With Its Very Own Pond And 9.2 Beautiful Acres

Every once in a while, you just need to get into nature and escape for a bit. The tranquility of being out in a beautiful park in Kansas is a magnificent treat, no matter the season. There are so many great state parks in the Sunflower State, but that doesn't mean you should ignore our wonderful municipal parks. Many of our city parks have amenities and gorgeous scenery that make them just as perfect of outings as a trip to a state or national park. One of our favorites is the aptly-named Hidden Woods Park in Lenexa, KS. This stunning area has diverse scenery, fun trails, and a pond that the whole family can enjoy. Check it out:

Hidden Woods Park backs up to the west side of Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, a 46-acre graveyard that's quite lovely to walk through. The park itself spans 9.2 acres and is open daily from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The trails here are wonderful because there's such a great variety of scenery. Some areas are heavily wooded...

...while other parts of the park contain marsh views.

The park has just a small handful of parking spaces, but it's rarely very crowded here. This is something of a hidden gem in Lenexa's park system.

There's plenty of wildlife to be spotted in and around the water.

The pond is stocked with channel catfish, bluegill, and sunfish, so if you've got a state fishing license, it's a great place to cast a line.

The scenery is quite gorgeous, and it's a wonderful spot for a stroll or those looking to reconnect with nature.
