You May Not Like These Predictions About Iowa’s Positively Frigid Winter

If you were hoping to keep the thought of winter's arrival toward the back of your mind this week, then we hate to break it to you but the Old Farmer's Almanac has released their preview predictions. Highly anticipated every year and well-known for its 80% accuracy, the Old Farmer's Almanac has been forecasting the weather for 225 years.

Summer is ending...and you may not like the sounds of these predictions about Iowa's upcoming winter:

While we still have to wait just a little bit longer to receive the full prediction, previews of what weather is to come has been given to us this week.

If you're no fan of cold and dry weather, then you may not be so thrilled about what weather we're expected to get.

Located right within America's Heartland region, Iowa can expect this winter to be much colder and far more dry than normal.

The coldest periods of the season are expected to be during January and early February. While the snowiest periods are supposed to be mid to late November, mid January and early February.

Like many of our states across the country, U.S. Climate Data shows that Iowa's coldest month of the year is January when the average low temperature is a mere 14 degrees Fahrenheit and the high is only 31 degrees.
