The Hike To This Little-Known Indiana Waterfall Is Short And Sweet

You know about Indiana's most popular waterfall, but there's a waterfall hike in Lagro that you also need to have on your radar. This little-known adventure is sure to inspire the nature lover in anybody.

Tucked away on the north side of Indiana, the Salamonie River State Forest is an 850-acre preserve that enjoys moderate foot traffic throughout the year. What locals don't know is that a fascinating waterfall hides within these trees and brambles.

To find it, you'll take a short, 1.6-mile loop trail known as the Kokiwanee Nature Preserve Trail. It is lightly trafficked, so you'll likely have it all to yourself.

On the southeast corner of the preserve, you'll find what makes this waterfall hike notable. It may not be the biggest or most abundant falls, but it most certainly is gorgeous.

Some call this place Kissing Falls, deeming it an ideal spot to bring your loved one for a smooch. Don't forget to bring your camera for selfies and shots of this magnificent waterfall.

This simple loop trail is ideal for nature walks, dog walking, hiking, and running. There are even multiple paths along the way that allow you to make your trip as long or short as you like.

With all the rain we've been having in the state recently, now is the perfect time to take this fantastic waterfall hike. The more rainfall we get, the more this cascade will flow throughout the season.
