Discover Multiple Lakes At This Picturesque State Park In Indiana

Indiana is a surprisingly beautiful state with a lot going on just about always; it's home to 24 state parks at the time of this writing, all of which are worthy of a daytime (or longer) adventure; one of these parks is particularly wondrous, filled top-to-bottom with gorgeous glacial lakes that sparkle and gleam, reflecting the blue of the sky on clear days. This haven of lakes in Indiana is called Chain O'Lakes State Park, and it's one of the most beautiful places in the entire Midwest if you ask us.

If you're the outdoorsy type, Chain O'Lakes State Park is a veritable paradise for you.

There are so many things to do, see, and experience that I'm fairly certain you'll want to stay for multiple days.

In that case, I've got great news: this is one awesome Indiana state park for camping.

Take your pick from 331 electric sites, 49 non-electric sites, 33 primitive sites, and more. No matter your needs, they'll be met at this gorgeous example of Indiana's amazing outdoors.

Chain O'Lakes consists of 2,718 beautiful acres, with nine gorgeous lakes all interconnected with one another.

These lakes are natural kettle lakes formed centuries ago by receding ice sheets. They are crystalline, chilly, and beautiful - they make for an amazingly idyllic escape.

You'll encounter all sorts of interesting ecosystems during your adventures.

The deepest of the lakes is Bowen Lake, coming in at 65 feet deep; the shallowest is Dock Lake, at just 20 feet deep.

The lakes are popular for kayaking, canoeing, paddling, and boating with electric motors.

Fishing here is excellent, and once you're finally over being on the water (it might be a while), you can explore the more than 20 miles of amazing trails all over the park.

Those miles are divided across 12 different trails, so no matter what your experience is, you'll find something right on your level.
