The Frozen Waterfalls At McCormick’s Creek State Park In Indiana Are A Must-See This Winter
McCormick’s Creek State Park in Indiana transforms into a magical winter wonderland with stunning frozen waterfalls and various outdoor activities.
If you’re on the hunt for the perfect winter wonderland in Indiana, it’s hard to pick just one! However, for this article, we’re going to focus on a frozen cascade that is spectacular— and it happens to be in the oldest state park in Indiana! Grab your warmest jacket and let’s bundle up for this winter hike through McCormick's Creek State Park in Spencer Indiana.
A day trip to McCormick's Creek State Park is always a treat, but during the winter months, it takes on a very special magic.
Covered in snow from "head to toe," the park becomes everything a winter wonderland lover could possibly ask for.
Some parts of the creek still run as liquid water, and the snow peppered around the banks adds a special whimsy.
But the most special part of all, we think, are the numerous frozen waterfalls scattered around the entire park.
Sure, they're gorgeous in the spring and summer, but when they freeze over around this time of year, it's a nature lovers' dream come true.
Although it's most popular for visitors in the summertime, winter affords McCormick's Creek State Park something very special.
Make sure to bundle up and bring your camera — you sure won't want to ever forget the pristine beauty of Indiana ice-falls.
There's much more to do at the park than just ogle the falls, of course (although if you wanted to do that all day, we definitely get it).
Enjoy activities like camping — in either electricity-connected or primitive campgrounds — and hiking. Just be careful of ice.
We're pretty sure that you and your family will find something to adore about this park no matter what the season is.
Of course, it gets super cold during this time of year, so make sure to bundle up!
Wear closed-toed shoes and thick socks — if your feet get wet at all, you're going to have a very, very cold time!
