Every autumn, many folks start wondering about all the fun, traditional "fall stuff" to do like corn mazes, hay rides, and pumpkin patches nearby that might make for a fun family afternoon, day trip, or even a cute first date. Did you know that, when it comes to all that "fall stuff", Indiana is one of the best places to be? Yep - Indiana produces the second-highest number of pumpkins every year (Illinois is number one), so you just KNOW it's going to be good no matter where you end up. Take for example Goebel Farms, a huge pumpkin patch in Indiana that just so happens to also be a working farm year-round. During this time of year, though, it's a veritable pumpkin paradise - and you definitely ought to check it out.
Welcome to Goebel Farms, a wonderful, local family-run farm that's been going strong for three generations now (and counting).
Here, you'll find pretty much everything you'd ever want for during the autumn season.
The farm is probably most known for its legendary corn maze every year.
...but this is a little short-sighted, as the pumpkin patch is huge and also very much worth exploring. Plus, what even is fall without a pumpkin patch?
You'll be amazed at the diversity of the gourd and squash families, too, in all the little fellas you'll notice while you're here.
You'll encounter things you might have never even seen before, or never even knew was a thing. Gourds are especially strange, and there are tons at Goebel Farms!
If picking your own pumpkin from the pumpkin patch isn't quite your thing, then check out the selection of pre-picked pumpkins.
All of them were grown with love right here on the farm...
...and some of them are absolutely gargantuan.
No matter what you're looking for, you'll probably find it here.
Pumpkin season starts in September and really ramps up in October.
This just so happens to coincide with harvest season - autumn - and all the delightful things there are to do outside in the crisp air.
