You’ll Reach Speeds Of Up To 42 MPH On Indiana’s Epic Toboggan Run

For more than 80 years now, Pokagon State Park has transformed itself, every winter, into a safe haven for fun and games. Who says snowfall means the end of recreational shenanigans at Indiana's beautiful state park? Definitely not the folks at Pokagon; in fact, this little state park is home to the fastest toboggan run in Indiana (so far). As of the time of this writing, the fastest recorded speed a rider has reached is 42 miles per hour. Think you can beat the record? It's worth a try. After all, what's the worst that can happen - you have a great time?

Interestingly, the track is actually refrigerated, so it doesn't even need snow to operate.

Luckily, the vast majority of years bring plenty of the fluffy white stuff to Indiana.

Pokagon State Park is beautiful all year, but when it's covered in a layer of snow, it's especially lovely.

We think there's no better way to enjoy the scenery than in the form of a high-speed blur all around you as you careen down the quarter-mile-long track.

The tower you climb to the top is 30 feet tall, and thanks to all sorts of drops, valleys, and dips, the entire run has a total vertical drop of 90 feet.

Of course, considering how fast you go on this bad boy, it'll only take you about 20 to 30 seconds to blitz through the entire thing.

At just $20 per toboggan per hour, it's an affordable winter funfest for the whole family - or you and a group of your closest friends.

Keep in mind that Pokagon State Park charges a small entry fee as well, so you'll add that to the price of the toboggans. As of the time of this writing, fees are $7 for in-state vehicles, $9 for out-of-state vehicles, and $2 per person on buses.
