Your two options for tours at Marengo Cave - and we recommend both! - are the Crystal Palace tour and the Dripstone Trail tour.

Each has its own pros and cons, though honestly, it really is kind of difficult to think of any cons to exploring an amazing, mature cave system in Indiana.

The Crystal Palace Tour is shorter, and it's jam-packed with awe-inspiring and curious formations.

It only takes about 40 minutes to complete, and you're sure to learn some amazing things along the way!

The Dripstone Trail is longer, more complicated, and even MORE rewarding - if that's even possible.

It takes an hour to complete, and along the way, you'll see fascinating things like soda straw formations, stalagmites, and a famous part of the trek known as Penny Ceiling. Here, there's been an offbeat tradition for decades: folks have been throwing coins at the sticky mud of the cave ceiling in this spot, and the coins stick! In 1999, the ceiling was cleaned through many painstaking hours in an effort to remove literal decades' worth of stuck coins, ensuring that guests can continue to toss coins up there for decades to come.

Marengo Cave was discovered by accident on September 6th, 1883, by a brother and sister roaming the area.

The cave has been privately owned ever since, and it's carved its way into the hearts of Hoosiers and tourists alike by providing a truly unique experience and all the learning that comes with it.

The cave is open year-round, with only a few holiday exceptions, and tours are also offered year-round.

The tours are simple and easy, without a lot of difficult parts or spots. The cave remains a steady 52 degrees inside, no matter what the weather is like outside. You'll definitely want to wear good, comfortable walking shoes to make sure you get the most out of your Marengo Cave adventures.

Reservations are not required - if you want to, you can just kinda show up, and the kind folks around here will make sure you get in.
