Hike Through Indiana’s Backcountry For An Adventure Like No Other
Indiana offers stunning hiking trails like Spring Dry Loop, featuring magical forests, waterfalls, and scenic views.
Hiking in Indiana is a particularly fun thing to do, considering the Hoosier State is filled from top to bottom with stunning landscapes, magical forests, enchanting waterfalls, and so much more. It's probably not the first place that comes to mind when one is thinking about a good hiking trip, but we think that's pretty unfair; after all, the hiking trails in Indiana are truly awesome and just as worthy of admiration as trails in more popular hiking destinations. Take, for example, Spring Dry Loop: a moderately challenging hike with so much to see that you could make an entire day trip out of it. It's some of the best hiking in Indiana; come see why!
At just 4.2 miles long, Spring Dry Loop makes for an excellent afternoon hike - though we suspect you might want to make multiple stops along the way.
The entire trail feels like something out of a fairy tale; it's stunning year-round, but during the warmer seasons, when everything is lush and green, it's at its best.
This is a revised version of another trail; parts of that trail tend to be underwater in the spring, and this revision takes hikers around that bit instead of through it.
Along the way, you'll encounter all sorts of delights.
There's a crystal-clear, sparkling fishing lake that might just tempt you to stop and stay a while.
Why not? You've got the whole afternoon. Might as well relax.
It leads you through woodlands that feel like they contain magic; listening to the singing of the birds on a clear day is one of the best therapies there is.
You'll also encounter a lookout point, an incredible waterfall, and so much more.
The trail is open all year, so you can come and enjoy a hike any time.
It's a popular destination for hikers in Indiana, though, so be sure to arrive early (or come during the week) for the best shot at getting the place to yourself.
Don't forget to stop and appreciate the little things along the way...
...after all, who knew the Midwest is so beautiful?
