This Low-Key Waterpark In Illinois Is A Little-Known Summer Gem

With so many aquatic resorts and amusement parks, this little-known waterpark in Urbana often gets overlooked. Much more budget-friendly than destinations like Hurricane Harbor and Raging Waves, this place still has everything to make your summer day complete.

Crystal Lake Park Family Aquatic Center is one of the best things about the city of Urbana and its park district.

Open swim for the summer is available daily. Monday through Friday hours are 12:30 to 8 p.m. and weekend hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Lap swim is also available here on weekdays before and after open swim hours.

For admission, residents of Urbana pay $6 while nonresidents pay just $9. If you arrive on Tuesday or anytime after 5 p.m., admission is just $4 for residents and $6 otherwise.

Guests enjoy waterslides, a diving board, a climbing wall, a vortex, and much more. Both deep and shallow pool areas are available for any skill level.

Sand play and other dry activities can also be accessed here. Swim lessons are also offered.

All ages will find this little-known waterpark to be the best aquatic adventure in Illinois. Forget the gigantic parks and enjoy this hidden oases instead.
