Lake Chaminwood Preserve is 120 acres of a larger 1,500-acre preservation system that runs along the DuPage River.
Situated in northern Illinois just outside of Chicago, this beautiful oasis is a great place to go to feel secluded from it all.
There are trails to roam, which are great for hiking and biking. The paths lead all around both a 35-acre lake as well as a 12-acre lake.
There are also some excellent spots for viewing the lakes. Be sure to bring your camera to capture them all.
Fishing is allowed at this lake preserve. You'll find catfish, bluegill, walleye, and much more.
There are also picnic areas, which are first-come, first-served. Excellent views of the water abound from any part of this park.
All sorts of natural water activities abound at this lake preserve. Outdoors lovers find plenty to do to spend a full morning or afternoon here.
