This Off-The-Beaten-Path Park In Georgia Is The Perfect Place To Escape

Seminole State Park in South Georgia offers a tranquil and underrated escape with boating, fishing, and scenic views.

Life can be so stressful, can't it? We all just want to get away sometimes. Whether you're having family issues, you're sick of your job, or are just feeling the wanderlust bug, it's normal to feel the need to escape at times. The next time you're looking for a middle-of-nowhere getaway, we've got just the spot for you in South Georgia. Seminole State Park is tucked away in the far southwest corner of the state, right on the border with Florida, and if you ask us, it's one of the most underrated state parks in Georgia. It doesn't get much more quiet or tranquil than this 604-acre park, and it's one of the most peaceful places around for a private getaway.

The park's crowning jewel is Lake Seminole, a 37,500-acre reservoir where you can boat or fish. There's a small sandy beach if you'd like to relax by the water's edge.

Kayaks are available for rent if you prefer to head out on the water.

The park features several miles of trails, plus a putt putt course.

Did we mention it's an amazing place to catch a sunset?

The park features several cabins and camping sites if you decide you want to stay a little longer.

While there aren't as many amenities here as you'd typically find at more popular state parks, if you're looking for somewhere quiet to reconnect with nature, this is definitely the spot.

Views don't come much better than this!
