The Little Known Garden In Georgia That Everyone Should Explore At Least Once
Cator Woolford Garden in Druid Hills, Georgia, is a hidden gem offering a stunning venue for events and a beautiful place for a stroll.
We have a lot of well-known botanical gardens in the Peach State. Our warm climate lends itself well to growing a variety of plants. One garden in Georgia that we feel doesn't get quite the attention it deserves is the Cator Woolford Garden. This spot in Druid Hills is so unknown that even many locals aren't familiar with it, but it's a stunning event venue and an absolutely amazing place for a stroll!
This magical oasis is right in Druid Hills, but when you're here, you'll feel light years away from the urban sprawl of Atlanta.
The garden is located on the property of an Italian-style estate originally owned by Cator Woolford, the founder of what is now Equifax.
This hidden gem is largely unknown even by most people who live nearby, but those who are familiar with the grounds generally know it as a wedding venue.
But what many people don't realize is that the grounds are open to the public as long as there's no event scheduled that day.
The 39 acres of mature hardwoods are gorgeous, and you'll find plenty of trails throughout to explore.
It's also a great place to have a picnic. With a meadow, garden, courtyard, pavilion, and more, there's plenty of room to spread out.
The scenery is magnificent and will make you feel like you're at a rural countryside estate instead of in one of the largest cities in the Southeast!
You can learn more from the Cator Woolford Gardens website. Remember, the garden is only open to the public on days when private events are not scheduled, so make sure to check the calendar on the website before planning a trip.
