The Trahlyta Lake Trail at Vogel State Park comes to life during the fall months, as hikers are able to hug the shorelines with views of colorful foliage in every direction.

Vogel State Park is the second-oldest park in the state of Georgia and offers a wide variety of activities throughout. But perhaps the most popular thing to do is to hike around the beautiful centerpiece lake along the Lake Trahlyta Trail.

This hikeable trail is simple and straightforward, as it winds one mile circling the beauty of Lake Trahlyta.

Starting from the parking lot near the visitor’s center, hikers can choose whichever direction they prefer, as it’s a loop trail around the lake.

One definite stop, however, is to detour on the Traylyta Falls trail. Follow the proper signage along a short trail and down some stairs to the viewing platform of this incredible cascade.

After taking in the natural beauty of the waterfall, head back up the trail the way you came to continue on with your loop trek.

While the hike isn’t long by any means, there are plenty of places to stop and sit along the way, drinking in the colors of the fall foliage.

Enjoy a simple and serene hike around Lake Trahlyta in Georgia, for the perfect way to experience all the best autumn has to offer.
