Also known as Chicopee Woods Park, this beautiful protected area spans more than 1,000 acres in Gainesville and contains all kinds of fun activities.

You'll find more than 12 miles of hiking trails, a 27-hole golf course, 21 miles of mountain biking trails, and even a nature center.

One important note: dogs are not allowed here, so this is one adventure that Fido can't come along on.

Chicopee Lake provides excellent opportunities to keep an eye out for wildlife.

Osprey, beaver, otter, ducks, and a variety of birds live in this marshy area.

As you explore the trails here, you'll find plenty of other gems hidden in the woods.

There are lots of places on the trails to sit and catch your breath or enjoy a picnic.

A variety of trails are available, from .4-mile paved pathways up to 4.26-mile treks that are for more advanced explorers.
