We admit that we may be a little bit biased, but we honestly believe some of the greatest hikes on Earth are right here in Georgia. Our numerous mountains in the northern part of the state provide some trails that have really amazing views. Some of these trails may be quite difficult and best suited for experienced hikers, but there are plenty on this list that are a good bit easier and are suitable even for novices. Check out some of the best trails in Georgia:
1. Mount Yonah: GA-75, Cleveland, GA 30528
The Mount Yonah Trail is one of the most popular hikes in the staet, but it's also one dangerous hikes in Georgia. Three people have died on this trail in the last 15 years. The mountain is super-steep and the rocks can become quite slippery after rainfall. Be careful, and always wear appropriate footwear when hiking! The views are amazing, and you'll get to see some of the tallest peaks in the state.
2. East Palisades Trail: 1425 Indian Trail NW, Sandy Springs, GA 30327
It's hard to believe that the East Palisades Trail is just outside of Atlanta. It takes you through a magical bamboo forest, along the banks of a beautiful river, and has generally fairy tale-like surroundings.
