Float Past Some Of The Most Beautiful Scenery In Georgia When You Take A Trip Down The Chattahoochee River

Floating down the Chattahoochee River in Georgia on tubes is a popular and scenic summer activity.

One of the most welcomed past times for many southerners around the spring and summer season is floating down the Chattahoochee River in Georgia on tubes. Whether it's a group of friends spending the day in the sun, or a family adventure to float all afternoon, river tubing sure is a fun-filled time. While some of our favorite tubing companies might not be opening on time this season, that doesn't mean that you can't grab your own tube and hit the same river trail to float past some of the most beautiful scenery in Georgia.

Chattahoochee River tubing, otherwise known as Shooting the Hooch, has been a welcomed past time during the spring and summer for many Georgians.

The concept is simple—grab a tube, grab your friends, and hit the river for an afternoon floating under the sun.

The reason why the Chattahoochee River is so perfect to tube is because it is nearly 430 miles long, relatively shallow in many parts, and slow moving through Georgia.

You can choose to go with a company in order to shoot the Hooch—one of our favorites is Cool River Tubing in Helen.

River visitors can spend a few hours on the river, as well as get shuttle service, a life jacket, and more!

Tubing is an epically fun way to enjoy an all-day scenic float in the water, keeping cool during the warmer months.

If you’re choosing to shoot the hooch without the guidance of a company, make sure you know the level of the rapids for that day, as well as learn your entry points and exit points.

This is what many tubers choose to go with a river tubing outfitter—so they can just kick back and relax as they float the day away.

Head on down the Chattahoochee River as you float through some of the most scenic parts of Georgia.
