Juniper Springs in Florida is one of the oldest recreational areas in the country.

Smack dab between Ocala and Ormond Beach along SR40, the swimming area dazzles guests with the sparkling springs and a tropical setting.

This unique pool is unlike anything else in the states, with hundreds of springs of all different sizes feeding into the pool.

Even the nearby Millhouse, a picturesque addition to the pool itself, trickles the water through with the churning mill.

And the nearby waterfalls which propel the spring fed water down into the swimming pool below.

Guests come from all over to take a plunge into this refreshing spring, enjoying the canopied oaks and palm trees shading them from the hot summer sun.

The area itself was built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps after the discovery of these stunning springs.

Today, it is not only a perfect way to spend a day, but an entire weekend as well, with camping and picnic areas galore.

To work up a bit of a sweat before the swim, hit any one of the winding trails throughout the area for a daily dose of nature thrown in the mix.
