This Village By The Sea In Florida Is A Magical Place To Spend A Long Weekend

Lauderdale-By-The-Sea is a charming seaside village in Florida known for its pristine beaches and vibrant community.

Looking for a way to grab some R&R without needing to leave the state of Florida? We may have the perfect suggestion for you. While this small seaside village is actually part of the Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Pompano Beach areas, it still feels like a charming oceanfront town without all the hustle and bustle of metropolitan living.

With a population just over 6,000 residents, Lauderdale-By-The-Sea is a charming seaside town that you probably wouldn’t find if you weren’t looking for it.

Located just east of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on a barrier island is the quaint sea village that is so much more than pristine beaches.

The town itself traces roots back to the 1920s, when a new beachside community became the goal for building contractor Melvin I. Anglin.

What makes Lauderdale-By-The-Sea so fascinating is that while other coastal cities in Florida have allowed developers to build along the beach, this village strives to maintain charm, and ocean views by limiting building heights.

Over the past 40 years, the town has experienced some serious growth, going from just 1,300 residents in 1960 to over 6,000 where it remains today.

For visitors today who go to Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, there is so much to do in the surrounding area, especially when it comes to seaside recreation.

Enjoy free yoga in El Prado Park every Tuesday and Thursday from 7am to 8am…

…or go scuba diving off the coast and explore the famed archaeological preserve known as the S.S. Copenhagen.

Walk around the village and enjoy the colorful and creative vibrancy that the community offers to all.

This is one welcoming village by the sea that will soon become an annual trip for the whole family.
