The Pinelands Nature Trail is just what you're looking for - it's an underrated hidden gem of a hike located right between Lewes and Rehoboth Beach.

The trail is located in Cape Henlopen State Park and starts off sandy and flat.

You'll follow the trail for a 1.5-mile loop that takes you up into the sprawling pine forest that makes up much of the park.

It's peaceful and shady, which makes it a great spot to go for a stroll when the sun is beating down and the beaches are packed with tourists.
