Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge is one of Delaware's most impressive natural wonders. It was recently named the most beautiful place in Delaware, and we agree that it is an unforgettable place that's sure to capture your heart.
The refuge consists of more than 15,000 acres of preserved marshland and waterways, and it was first funded by a Federal Duck Stamp program. It opened in 1937 and has expanded since.
Bombay Hook was recently named the most beautiful place in Delaware, thanks to Conde Nast Traveler. Anyone who has driven through the refuge at dusk or dawn can easily see why it was chosen.

The National Wildlife Refuge is a significant spot along the Interational Flyway, a pathway that thousands of migratory birds take each year on their journeys north and south.
The refuge is also home to a diverse marsh ecosystem, with a variety of fish, frogs, reptiles, amphibians, and mammals that call these swampy lands their home.
Visitors to the refuge can enjoy an auto tour that stops in a variety of places for wildlife spotting and birdwatching.
Even if you aren't an avid birder, you'll find so many interesting critters all around!
Keep an eye out for foxes jumping around in the tall grass, and field mice trying to avoid them. You never know what you might see here at the most beautiful place in Delaware.
Stick around until sunset, and you'll enjoy a breathtaking sight as the skies reflect beautifully onto the water that makes up much of the refuge.
