When it comes to enjoying those warm summer days, there are seemingly endless adventures to be had in Delaware! Once you're done out on the water, make your way to an enormous water park where you can find thrilling slides and a fun water adventure course.
Killens Pond is located at 5025 Killens Pond Rd. in Felton.
The park features miles of trails and pathways for hiking and exploring, but the Pond is the centerpiece of the park.
You can rent all sorts of boats to explore the pond, whether you're an experienced paddler or it's your first time on the water.
Canoes, Kayaks and Tandem Kayaks are available from the park office.
Canoes, Kayaks and Tandem Kayaks cost between $8 - $11 hourly, or you can rent the boat for an entire day from between $40 - $55.
Paddleboats are better for those who want a relaxing boat ride across the lake, without the efforts of paddling on open water.
You can rent these boats for $6 (half hour), $10 (hour) or $50 (daily).
The highlight of the Killens Pond is the enormous water park right in the middle.
The four 54' tall slides are perfect for thrill seekers who want to have the ultimate aqua adventure.
For younger kids, or those who aren't quite waterbugs, the splash pad is the place to be.
The Floating Lily Pad Fun Walk is one of the most fun interactive features of the water park! It challenges your balance and bravery as you try not to fall into the water.
With so many ways to get out on the water or cool off at the water park, you'll never want to leave Killens Pond!
Luckily, the park offers plenty of camping! You can camp with an RV or tent, try a primitive walk-in site, or reserve a family-friendly cabin. The cabins include a kitchen, bedroom, full bathroom, and climate control. Outside, you'll find a picnic table and grill. One of the cabins is pet-friendly, but you'll have to call and reserve it specifically. To reserve a cabin or campsite, visit the Killens Pond State Park webpage, here.
Killens Pond is one of only a few water parks in the State of Delaware, and while it's my favorite, some prefer to be closer to the beach and balance their slide time with sand time.
