You Can Enjoy Year-Round Fun At Westmoor Park In Connecticut

Westmoor Park in Connecticut offers a variety of winter activities and educational programs for families.

The sometimes frigid winters in Connecticut mean that we occasionally don't engage in as many outdoor activities as we could. Admittedly, when it's really cold out, the fireplace and warm blankets you have indoors do look pretty inviting. But there are so many great winter activities in Connecticut that it'd be a shame to stay cooped up all season! One place where you can enjoy all that winter in the Nutmeg State has to offer is Westmoor Park. This fantastic 162-acre park in West Hartford is easily one of the best parks in Connecticut. It makes for a great family activity no matter the season, and hosts year-round educational activities that are an absolute blast.

Westmoor Park is probably best known for their on-site farm. The farm houses various barn animals, such as chickens and sheep, and regularly holds demonstration classes.

This is a great place to introduce city kids to animals they might not usually come in contact with!

When you think of visiting a park in Connecticut, you probably picture visiting it in the warmer months, when it looks like this:

But to not visit in the winter is to miss out on so much beauty!

There are several miles of trails here if you're a fan of winter hikes.

The trail is handicap accessible and suitable for kids.

The park also hosts plenty of winter classes and events for kids and adults. Snowshoe walks, vacation camp, Winter Outdoor Adventures: just because it's winter doesn't mean there aren't things to enjoy outside!

Many of the events and classes at the park are geared towards kids, but they also host crafting classes and nature walks for adults.

This is such a great underrated park in Connecticut. Bundle up and head on out!
