You’ll Fall In Love With The Tiny Waterfall Hiding Along This Breathtaking Connecticut Trail

We've got no shortage of waterfalls in Connecticut, but when most of us think of these natural wonders, our minds immediately go to towering cascades like the mighty Kent Falls. It's easy to forget about the much more common tiny waterfalls that dot the landscape, whether you're in our Quiet Corner or the rolling Litchfield Hills. Today, we're featuring a moderately difficult hike tucked away in the beautiful Saugatuck Falls Natural Area near Redding. This is a stunningly gorgeous part of the state, and it's one of the best spots for hiking in Fairfield County. Let's check out this beautiful trail with a waterfall in Redding, CT.

The park is home to the beautiful Saugatuck River, and features more than five miles of trails.

One of the most popular is the Saugatuck Falls and Hardwood Trail Loop, a moderately difficult 3.2-mile loop that takes a little under an hour and a half to complete.

Throughout the trail, you'll notice signs with quotes about nature and information about the surrounding area: it's fun for a bit of learning (and inspiration!) in the midst of your hike.

The little waterfall that gives the park its name is certainly not among the tallest in the state, but it's lovely in any season.

All of the trails here are quite beautiful, with diverse scenery that includes forests, wetlands, and river.

If you're looking for a gorgeous place to enjoy a hike with a waterfall near Redding, CT, this is the perfect spot.
