This Connecticut Park Will Make Feel Like You Walked Into A Fairy Tale

Spending time out in nature is always magical, isn't it? Whenever I'm stressed or having a bad day, I try to remind myself to go take a step outside, and somehow, it just makes everything feel better. Despite being a densely-populated (and small) state, we're fortunate enough to have tons of green space in Connecticut. Whether you're in our largest cities or tucked away in our Quiet Corner, there's no shortage of town greens, state parks, or forests where you can slow down and enjoy the breeze and fresh air. One underrated park in Greenwich, CT that we adore is Montgomery Pinetum in Greenwich's Cos Cob neighborhood. This little park is perfect for quiet contemplation and a peaceful stroll. Check it out:

This property was once the private estate of a wealthy family, but in the 1920s, it was purchased by Colonel Robert Montgomery.

Montgomery was an avid tree lover and planted hundreds of species of conifers on the property.

The term "pinetum" (pronounced puh-nee-tum) refers to an arboretum with a focus on pine and conifer species.

When Colonel Montgomery died in 1952, his widow donated his pinetum to the city to be enjoyed as a public park.

Today, the Montgomery Pinetum spans 62 acres and is home to several quick and easy trails.

There are various side routes to explore, and there's lovely scenery to enjoy.

While the estate's buildings have been torn down, many of the original trees that Colonel Montgomery planted are still present today.

This place is a beautiful adventure that can be enjoyed during any season.

Next time you're looking for an escape into nature, check out the beautiful Montgomery Pinetum for a bit of peace in the midst of the city.
