When you need a day trip to get out into the beauty of nature, Connecticut has a wide array of places you can enjoy. For those days when you don't want to go too far, but still want to get away from it all and enjoy the beautiful ways that nature has blessed this gorgeous state, you'll want to pay a visit to Enders Falls.
The recently re-opened Enders Falls is where you will want to head out to if you haven't recently had a chance to visit. The mile out and back hike may seem like a short distance, but the gorgeous views and breathtaking cascades offer hours of exploration for the nature lover and photo enthusiast.
Located in a 2000-acre state forest that was gifted to the state of Connecticut by the Ostrem Enders family, your exploration begins at the parking lot where you will walk a short distance down a path and onto stone steps that look like you're about to follow them into a world of fantasy.
Each trail is clearly marked and is based on different skill levels. Be sure to bring along both sturdy hiking or athletic and water shoes. Some of the most beautiful views of the falls do require a bit of rock climbing experience to view.
Enders Falls consists of five distinct waterfalls within walking distance of each other. Ranging from six-foot cascades up to a 30-foot waterfall plunger, each waterfall offers a picturesque view that is sure to mesmerize.
No matter what time of year you visit, the views are nothing short of spectacular. The frozen falls during wintertime look like they are under an enchantment.
The Enders Connecticut State Park is open from dawn to dusk every day of the year. Enjoy the peaceful tranquility of the river and the waterfalls. Where is your favorite place to see beautiful nature scenery at its best?
